Vineyards and Vintage

Making Perri Jaye wines is all about passion, authenticity, integrity, and relationships. The Pinot Noir for this Rosé is from neighbors & longtime friends at Laguna Vineyards. Ongoing drought conditions took a toll on crop size during the 2021 season. This was a vintage that started cool and slow and worked its way into a warm and fast finish. We hand-picked the grapes in the chilly early hours of August 26, 2021.

Winemaking

This is an intentionally made Rosé which was whole cluster basket pressed, cold fermented and then racked & aged in stainless steel barrels. Minimal intervention was employed throughout the winemaking process – including using gravity instead of pumps in racking and bottling to preserve the delicate fruit, floral characters, and brilliant acidity of the wine. Our fresh vibrant Rosé was hand bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Winemaker’s Tasting Notes

The 2021 Perri Jaye Rosé is light peach in color. It opens with aromas of fresh strawberries and lemon blossom. The bright palate imparts flavors of white peach, citrus and rose water. It finishes with an easy acidity and soft mouthfeel that allows the delicious flavors to linger.
